Taylor Wanting to Kiss Ms Katie in Return

Email today from Ms Katie Tseng of CCMS:

Below please find part of my speech on the Christmas 2007 celebration. To add to that, I just want to let you know that I really like Taylor's sense of humor. He is such a fun child to be around. Children like him have Charisma. His fun personality will take him far. What a gift from God!

" Last Thursday, right after the second work time, as children were cleaning up their work and getting ready for a story in the circle. My daughter Maddi decided to put her arms around my leg hoping I would play with her and drag her around. After prying her arms open, urging her to go to circle, I placed a quick kiss on her forehead. Before I had chance to lift my upper body, I saw Bella looking up toward me, lifted her forehead, waiting for a kiss. I put her in my arm, placed a kiss on her forehead, and --- I saw Azaria standing next to her with her arms open and waiting for a response from me. I put Azaria in my arm, and placed a kiss on her forehead. Before long, I had Lucas, Allen, Brian, Annie, Naomi, running to me, giving me hugs, and I placed a kiss on each of their foreheads. After taking turns with each of them, more children caught on and got up from the circle and give me a hug and I returned a kiss on their foreheads. When finished kissing each child in the classroom, I noticed Taylor still standing there, looking up at me with a mischievous smile. “Taylor, I gave you a hug and a kiss already, now quickly go sit down.” “Now I want to give you a kiss.” Taylor said with a big smile. Knowing Taylor, who likes to stretch any fun and pleasurable moment, he would most likely land a really wet kiss on my face. “Silly goose, it’s time to sit down.” I tickled him gently nudged him toward the circle. For a brief moment, I stood there processing what had just happened. What a privilege I have to be amongst these angelic children. To teach them, love them and also enjoy their innocent love back to me.

Since this September, This privilege was extended to me and my staff for five years."

Poignant Coversation With Taylor

This happened 30 minutes ago at 10:30pm, Jan 6, 2008.

After I broke, inadvertently, my promise to watch "Veggie Tale" (the one that has an angel on the cover) with Taylor (my 5 year old son), Taylor eventually threw a temper tantrum. I didn't know why, and punished him for smashing 4 pairs of slippers on the floor. He got a 5 minute-or-so timeout. Later after he stopped sobbing, he told me that he was mad due to my broken promise. I realized that I was in the wrong, and said sorry. We prayed together, forgave each other, and were able to become "co-pilots" again.

Then we prayed one more prayer for an uncle who yesterday went to a mission trip.

Taylor started to show me the green toy soldier he got from Julia's birthday (as one of the goodie bag items).

Taylor said:

"I want to be a soldier, or a hunter, to hunt people who don't know Jesus. To hunt them; but not kill them; I want to tell them about Jesus.".

"Like uncle DJ?" I asked.

"Yes, like uncle DJ. Kind of dangerous, I know, but I'm not going to be scared. God will be on my side.".

"As a hunter, what will you tell the people about Jesus? That Jesus loves them?", I asked.

"Yes, Jesus loves them, and Jesus will watch over them. You know, like the EvangeCube at school. It tells stories about Jesus, like Jesus died on the cross."
