My Favorite Sport
My favorite sport is gymnastics. When my school, the Classical Academy, offered gymnastic classes I excitedly began my journey of gymnastics. In the five week classes, I learned basic skills of bars, beans, and floor. Progress was good in such a short time that I decided to join the North County Gymnastics to have weekly practice.
Gymnastics can help you in many ways, such as improving balance, making your arms and legs strong, and most important of all, your self-confidence. When I first started learning how to do cartwheels, I thought that I’ll never be able to do perfect cartwheels because it is hard to make your arms strong and lift your body in the air. Ceaselessly, I tried in every class. Finding that I could do a cartwheel in a straight line I was so proud of myself. Now, I believe that I can do anything I want to do if I try hard enough.
Gymnastics is an Olympic sport. It has men and women events. As for men, they compete in parallel bars, still rings, floor exercise, vault, and pommel horse. Women perform in uneven bars, floor exercise, vault, and balance beam. I can’t wait to watch my favorite sport, gymnastics, in Olympic Games this summer.
